When I started as a music teacher, I had a vision for a program that would impact the culture of both the school and the community — a group full of students who wanted to perform, work hard, and create something bigger than themselves through music.
This 8th grade class made all of those dreams come true and then some.
Because of this group, we have nearly tripled the size of each choir, performed in countless communities, and traveled constantly to share our music. They helped make opportunities possible that once felt out of reach — performing with orchestras, at foundation luncheons, and even at IMEA, one of the biggest music educator conferences in the state.
Through their constant effort, dedication, and desire to become not only better musicians, but better people, the Titan Choir program has become exactly what we hoped it could be for this community.
I said it three years ago, and I’ll say it again now:
THIS. IS. MUNCIE.
To our 8th graders: thank you. This program belongs to you as much as anyone, and we owe you so much for helping shape it into what it is today.
~Mr. D.
